With a $2 million estate gift, Liberal Arts alumnus Geoffrey Morton (1982) is creating a scholarship for students of military families in the College of the Liberal Arts as well as campus beautification endowments for Penn State's Mont Alto and University Park campuses.
About 100 family members, friends and regional business leaders gathered in the Multipurpose Activities Center at Penn State Mont Alto on April 12 to honor Mike and Donna Ross and join in the establishment of a Renaissance Fund Scholarship. Twelve members of the Forestry Class of 1958 recently celebrated their 60th reunion at the Mont Alto campus. Besides reconnecting with each other and the campus, their time together also resulted in a group gift of $34,233 that, thanks to a University match, transformed into a $102,669 Open Doors Scholarship to support Mont Alto students who are facing financial hardships and are at risk of not completing their degrees.
