Former NASA administrator to honor 50th anniversary of Apollo moon mission

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon missions, Richard L. Lesher will present a Penn State Mont Alto Evening Talk at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the General Studies Auditorium about his personal experience while working for NASA. Weather permitting, a Star Party will follow, led by Kimberly Herrmann, Penn State Mont Alto assistant professor in astronomy and physics.

Penn State Mont Alto to host DementiaLive simulation

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m Oct. 7, Penn State Mont Alto will host a DementiaLive simulation, facilitated by AGE-u-cate and Penn Cares in the Multipurpose Activities Center (MAC) on the University’s campus. A high-impact dementia simulation, the experience will immerse participants into life with dementia to help them gain a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change.

Mont Alto announces Evening Talk and Star Party Series

During Penn State Mont Alto’s 2019 Fall Evening Talk and Star Party Series, two faculty members and a visiting speaker will share their experiences and expertise in mindfulness practices and NASA during the time of the Apollo moon landings. Set for Sept. 19, Oct. 3 and Nov. 7 in the General Studies Auditorium, the talks and star parties are free of charge and open to the public.
